Morphettville Equine clinic provide a full range of equine internal medicine services including respiratory disease workups (airway endoscopy, tracheal lavage, bronchoalveolar lavage, and ultrasonography when required). High-speed treadmill endoscopy is available for evaluation of exercise intolerance or respiratory noise cases when required. Many colic cases are treated successfully each year medically, without the need for surgery.
We also offer a video gastroscopy service for diagnosis of gastric ulcers in horses.
Furthermore, the medicine service deal with a whole range of skin conditions, tumours, weight loss cases and genitourinary conditions.
Electrocardiography (ECG) and colour flow Doppler ultrasound is also performed to evaluate horses with heart abnormalities. Blood and plasma transfusions are routinely performed for a wide variety of medical conditions.
